In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
بِسْمِbis'miIn (the) nameٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) God,ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāniMost Gracious,ٱلرَّحِيمِl-raḥīmiMost Merciful.
[86:1] By the sky and Al-Taareq.
وَٱلسَّمَآءِwal-samāiBy the skyوَٱلطَّارِقِwal-ṭāriqiand Al-Taareq. ﴿١﴾
[86:2] Do you know what Al-Taareq is?
وَمَآwamāAnd what*أَدْرَىٰكَadrākait can make you know (*do you know)مَاmāwhat (is)ٱلطَّارِقُl-ṭāriquAl-Taareq? ﴿٢﴾
[86:3] The bright star.
ٱلنَّجْمُal-najmu(It is) the star*ٱلثَّاقِبُl-thāqibu[the] hole / shining through darkness / bright light piercing through a hole / bright! (*quasar) ﴿٣﴾
[86:4] Absolutely, everyone is well guarded.
إِنinIndeedكُلُّkullueveryنَفْسٍnafsinsoulلَّمَّاlammāwhenعَلَيْهَاʿalayhāover it (is)حَافِظٌḥāfiẓuna protector / guard. ﴿٤﴾
[86:5] Let the human reflect on his creation.
فَلْيَنظُرِfalyanẓuriSo let [him] consider / reflectٱلْإِنسَـٰنُl-insānuthe man / humanمِمَّmimmafrom whatخُلِقَkhuliqahe was originated / created. ﴿٥﴾
[86:6] He was created from ejected liquid.
خُلِقَkhuliqaHe was originated / createdمِنminfromمَّآءٍmāina water / liquid,دَافِقٍdāfiqin(water) is poured out / ejected. ﴿٦﴾
[86:7] From between the spine and the viscera.
يَخْرُجُyakhruju[It] is brought out / producedمِنۢminfromبَيْنِbaynibetweenٱلصُّلْبِl-ṣul'bithe backbone / spineوَٱلتَّرَآئِبِwal-tarāibiand the ribs / viscera. ﴿٧﴾
[86:8] He is certainly able to resurrect him.
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, He (is)عَلَىٰʿalātoرَجْعِهِۦrajʿihireturn himلَقَادِرٌlaqādirunsurely Able. ﴿٨﴾
[86:9] The day all secrets become known.
يَوْمَyawma(The) Dayتُبْلَىtub'lā[it] will be exposedٱلسَّرَآئِرُl-sarāiruthe secrets. ﴿٩﴾
[86:10] He will have no power, nor a helper.
فَمَاfamāThen not (is)لَهُۥlahufor himمِنminanyقُوَّةٍquwwatinpower / authorityوَلَاwalāand notنَاصِرٍnāṣirinany helper. ﴿١٠﴾
[86:11] By the sky that returns (the water).
وَٱلسَّمَآءِwal-samāiBy the skyذَاتِdhātiit possessingٱلرَّجْعِl-rajʿithe returns (the water). ﴿١١﴾
[86:12] By the earth that cracks (to grow plants).
وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiAnd the earthذَاتِdhātiit possessingٱلصَّدْعِl-ṣadʿi[the] cracks. ﴿١٢﴾
[86:13] This is a serious narration.
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, it (is)لَقَوْلٌlaqawlunsurely a wordفَصْلٌfaṣlunexplained in detail / decisive. ﴿١٣﴾
[86:14] Not to be taken lightly.
وَمَاwamāAnd notهُوَhuwait (is)بِٱلْهَزْلِbil-hazlifor [the] amusement / taken lightly. ﴿١٤﴾
[86:15] They plot and scheme.
إِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, theyيَكِيدُونَyakīdūna[they] are plotting / schemingكَيْدًاkaydana plot / scheme. ﴿١٥﴾
[86:16] But so do I.
وَأَكِيدُwa-akīduBut I am plotting / schemingكَيْدًاkaydana plot / scheme. ﴿١٦﴾
[86:17] Just respite the disbelievers a short respite.
فَمَهِّلِfamahhiliSo respiteٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers.أَمْهِلْهُمْamhil'humRespite them (for)رُوَيْدًۢاruwaydana little (while). ﴿١٧﴾
