In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
بِسْمِbis'miIn (the) nameٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) God,ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāniMost Gracious,ٱلرَّحِيمِl-raḥīmiMost Merciful.
[92:1] By the night as it covers.
وَٱلَّيْلِwa-al-layliBy the nightإِذَاidhāwhenيَغْشَىٰyaghshāit covers. ﴿١﴾
[92:2] The day as it reveals.
وَٱلنَّهَارِwal-nahāriAnd the dayإِذَاidhāwhenتَجَلَّىٰtajallāit reveals. ﴿٢﴾
[92:3] And Him who created the male and the female.
وَمَاwamāAnd thatخَلَقَkhalaqaHe createdٱلذَّكَرَl-dhakarathe maleوَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓwal-unthāand the female. ﴿٣﴾
[92:4] Your works are of various kinds.
إِنَّinnaIndeed,سَعْيَكُمْsaʿyakumyour efforts / works (are)لَشَتَّىٰlashattāsurely diverse / various. ﴿٤﴾
[92:5] As for him who gives to charity and maintains righteousness.
فَأَمَّاfa-ammāThen as forمَنْmanhe (who)أَعْطَىٰaʿṭā[he] gaveوَٱتَّقَىٰwa-ittaqāand he maintained righteousness. ﴿٥﴾
[92:6] And upholds the scripture.
وَصَدَّقَwaṣaddaqaAnd he confirmed / believed / upheldبِٱلْحُسْنَىٰbil-ḥus'nāin the best (*the scripture). ﴿٦﴾
[92:7] We will direct him towards happiness.
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥfasanuyassiruhuThen we will nudge / direct himلِلْيُسْرَىٰlil'yus'rātowards the ease. ﴿٧﴾
[92:8] But he who is stingy, though he is rich.
وَأَمَّاwa-ammāBut as forمَنۢmanhe (who)بَخِلَbakhilahe was stingyوَٱسْتَغْنَىٰwa-is'taghnāalthough he considered himself rich. ﴿٨﴾
[92:9] And disbelieves in the scripture.
وَكَذَّبَwakadhabaAnd he denied / rejected / disbelievedبِٱلْحُسْنَىٰbil-ḥus'nāin the best (*the scripture). ﴿٩﴾
[92:10] We will direct him towards misery.
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥfasanuyassiruhuThen we will nudge / direct himلِلْعُسْرَىٰlil'ʿus'rātowards the difficulty. ﴿١٠﴾
[92:11] His money cannot help him when he falls.
وَمَاwamāAnd notيُغْنِىyugh'nīit will avail / helpعَنْهُʿanhu[for] himمَالُهُۥٓmāluhuhis wealthإِذَاidhāwhen [in the future]تَرَدَّىٰٓtaraddāhe fell. ﴿١١﴾
[92:12] We provide the guidance.
إِنَّinnaIndeed,عَلَيْنَاʿalaynāupon us (is)لَلْهُدَىٰlalhudāsurely the guidance. ﴿١٢﴾
[92:13] We control the Hereafter, as well as this life.
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeed,لَنَاlanāfor us (is)لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَlalākhiratasurely the Hereafterوَٱلْأُولَىٰwal-ūlāand the first (life). ﴿١٣﴾
[92:14] I have warned you about the blazing Hellfire.
فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْfa-andhartukumSo I warned you [all] (of)نَارًاnārana Fireتَلَظَّىٰtalaẓẓāblazing. ﴿١٤﴾
[92:15] None burns therein except the wicked.
لَاlāNotيَصْلَىٰهَآyaṣlāhāhe burns thereinإِلَّاillāexceptٱلْأَشْقَىl-ashqāthe most wicked. ﴿١٥﴾
[92:16] Who disbelieves and turns away.
ٱلَّذِىalladhīThe one whoكَذَّبَkadhabahe denied / rejected / disbelievedوَتَوَلَّىٰwatawallāand he turned away. ﴿١٦﴾
[92:17] Avoiding it will be the righteous.
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَاwasayujannabuhāAnd he will be spared from it / avoid itٱلْأَتْقَىl-atqāthe righteous. ﴿١٧﴾
[92:18] Who gives from his money to charity.
ٱلَّذِىalladhīThe one whoيُؤْتِىyu'tīhe givesمَالَهُۥmālahuhis wealth / money*يَتَزَكَّىٰyatazakkā(that) [he] purify himself (*charity). ﴿١٨﴾
[92:19] Seeking nothing in return.
وَمَاwamāAnd notلِأَحَدٍli-aḥadinfor anyoneعِندَهُۥʿindahuwith himمِنminanyنِّعْمَةٍniʿ'matinfavorتُجْزَىٰٓtuj'zāit pays back. ﴿١٩﴾
[92:20] Seeking only his Lord, the Most High.
إِلَّاillāExceptٱبْتِغَآءَib'tighāaseekingوَجْهِwajhi(the) face رَبِّهِrabbihi(of) his Lord,ٱلْأَعْلَىٰl-aʿlāthe Most High. ﴿٢٠﴾
[92:21] He will certainly attain salvation.
وَلَسَوْفَwalasawfaAnd surely soonيَرْضَىٰyarḍāhe will be pleased / satisfied. ﴿٢١﴾
